Stop Auto-reloading of Tabs in Google Chrome
A quick fix to auto-refresh bug in Chrome. Stop tabs from reloading when revisited after every few seconds.
You might have noticed a strange issue on Google Chrome when it starts reloading tabs on revisits. The tabs get auto-refreshed when revisited after every 5-10 seconds. It literally deteriorates your browsing experience if Chrome is the only web browser you want to use.
Why it happens? Sorry, I have no answers to this question for now. So, pass. I’ll update you as soon as I get to know the proper explanation to this why. No worries, we do have a fix available to this problem.
How to fix it?
So, you might want to fix it by yourself. And you uninstall and then reinstall Chrome. Yes, it will help you get out of the problem for sure. Do you know there exists a rather quick and easy way to get rid of this annoying conundrum?
Quick Fix
- Start Chrome
- Type
chrome://flags
in the address bar, and hit go/enter - Make a search (Ctrl/Command + F) for the flag “Enable tab discarding”
- Set it to “Disabled” from “Default”
- Restart the browser
