BSNL delivers bills to it’s postpaid and landline customers on a monthly basis. Generally, the bill arrives the 10-15th day of the month. Fixed plans users already know what amount will be billed, but if you’re not one of such customers, you might have been keeping an eye on the bill using the BSNL Selfcare portal.

But if not, or in case you are looking for a much better, faster way to track BSNL bills, the feature I’m going to describe here will be very useful for you.

Now, you can get BSNL bill reports for every month on your mobile via SMS for absolutely free! There are almost 6 months since this feature has rolled out, but I discovered it today and I’m sharing it with you here.

Opting into BSNL Billing notifications via SMS

I’m going to tell how you can get the billing reports at the end of every month delivered to your mobile in form of text messages – I’m covering both: postpaid GSM connections as well as Landline connections to avail the facility.

BSNL GSM Postpaid

GSM Postpaid costumers are just required to send an SMS from their BSNL GSM postpaid mobile number with text BILL to the toll free number 53333 and wait for a confirmation message from BSNL. After receiving that message, you will now receive billing notifications on your number via SMS texts.

BSNL Landline

Landline users should send SMS to 09404001111 in this format:

<Landline number with STD Code><space><BSNL Account Number>

Important: In case you don’t know what your BSNL account number is, you should read this guide to know and use it.

This will get your mobile number registered for SMS alerts on billing. The executives at BSNL will ask for your mobile number on which you want the notifications delivered, also they will pick the default landline number from which you are calling the support.

Note that you don’t have to pay additionally for this service. Hope it has helped.
