Add Google Plus Widget on your website

Almost everybody is aware of Google Plus as millions of people are using it now. Google Plus invites are permanent now, if you haven’t experienced it yet, you should ask a friend using it to get one to check it out.

As we see before that Google Plus has increased the chances to change things on our blogs and websites. If you are a webmaster and spending good time with Google Plus, you must be missing something. Probably, not on Google Plus, but on your website. The Google Plus widget. Aren’t you?

If you’re thinking to put a Google Plus widget on your blog with live update feed, then Widgets Plus is what you should use.

Put a Google Plus Widget on your website

Widgets Plus is very easy to use and requires no sign up. It also allows users to customize the widget according to their website appearance. You need to click on “Get Widget” and next you can modify the different parameters related to the styling for your widget. The most important field you need to input is your Google Plus id. Now, how can you get Google Plus id? If you have a profile on Google Plus, your Google Profile URL is something like this: https://plus.google.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, the part of URL (a long integer), marked in red is the Google Plus id. Similarly, you can obtain your id also.

If you’re going to put the widget in the sidebar of your blog or website, you can modify width attribute according to it. The same thing goes with other fields also, to match the theme or style of your website.

After entering Google Plus id and modify other input fields according to you, click on Get Code button to grab the JavaScript code for your widget.

Widgets Plus also provides some nice statistics including graphs for your follower count and widget views – within 48 hours of installing the widget on your website. Currently, the statistics area of the Widgets Plus is in beta and the service has promised to add more stats in the coming days for some unique insights.

You can live preview the Google Plus widget while grabbing the code on the website itself. You can also see my Google Plus widget in the About section of this blog.

WordPress users can also use Google Cards plugin to put “Add to circles” Card to their website.

Update: You can now add your Google+ page badge / widget on your site using Google+ Badges! Also know how to create pages in Google+.

Its not working brother,it says Profile cannot be found. My profile link is correct although.

        • Rahul Arora

You need to insert the id only not the whole link. If your G+ profile URL is http ://plus.google.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx , then input only xxxxxxxxxxxxxx part.

Promoting google+ votes is becoming a very hot business. Using these types of services could have negative or positive affects on SEO.
We just have to see how google treats them. Another place to buy google plus votes is bulkones.com
Will be interesting to see how this evolves over the next few months.

I am trying, but the widgetplus link is not working.

    • Rahul Arora

Hey Atif. WidgetsPlus is down currently and it will be back later today. Get a widget then.

The site (widgetsplus) is down more than it’s up lately (404 errors half the time). Presently the site only says “cache is active”. Hasn’t been reliable in the least.
